On July 9, the National Library named after M.F. Akhundov hosted an event and awarding ceremony of journalists in the field of culture on the occasion of the 135th anniversary of Azerbaijan press. The ceremony was organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Addressing the event, Culture and Tourism Minister Abulfas Garayev spoke about the 135-year history of Azerbaijan press. A deputy, an editor-in-chief of the newspaper “Ədalət” Agil Abbas, an editor-in-chief of the newspaper “525-ci qəzet” Rashad Majid and other figures addressed the event. Following the official part, winners of the contest by “Mədəniyyət” (“Culture”) newspaper “The best Journalistic Work in the field of Culture” was awarded.
The first place – Flora Khalilzadeh, the second – Abdoulla Suvar, the third – Etibar Jabrayiloglu, in the field of television – the first place Vusala Guliyeva, the second place “Salam, Azərbaycan” (“Good morning, Azerbaijan”) and the third place “Mədəniyyət saatı” (“Culture hour”).
