A new book of a chief of Folklore Studies Department of the Nakhchivan branch of the Art, Language and Literature Institute of ANAS, a PhD, a Professor Muharram Jafarli has been published recently. The book printed in “Nurlan” publishing house is named “The Structural Poetics of Azerbaijani Eposes”. The monograph deals with Azerbaijani epos art and its development stages, a system of images, poetic structure, epic-mythological semantics of archaic epos motives, as well as the researches carried out in this field up to now, the author’s researches.
He gave samples from sagas “Kitabi Dede Gorgud”, “Muhmmad Gulandam”, Asli and Karam”, “Abbas and Gulgez” and other love stories, as well addressed the Turkish, Turkmen, Uzbek and other versions of Azerbaijani sagas and compared them.
