A book titled “The National Clothes of Nakhchivan” has been published. The book reviewed by the Associate Member of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences Gadir Gadirzadeh, includes information about one of the important elements of our material culture – clothes, their history, preparation methods and their types, as well as photos of the national clothes.
By means of a stone curry-comb, bone, awl and needle discovered during the archaeological excavations carried out in different regions of Azerbaijan, as well in Nakhchivan, the new edition proves that the primitive man has worked up a primary form of leather and prepared kinds of clothes replacing the dress.
As a result of the following development of society, the influence of socio-economical on clothes strengthened, seasonal types of clothes, as well as men, women clothes and wedding, funeral and everyday dresses occurred. The said edition has been published in “Ajami” publishing polygraphy union.
