Rare and valuable editions (monumental books) discovered in the Azerbaijani libraries have been included into a register of national-cultural riches. A CD “The Monumental books of Azerbaijan” of unique and rare books, printing documents of special importance, rare manuscripts, newspapers, magazines, editions about the ethnography, maps, invitations, stamps, notes, the works of writers published during their existence and about the books signed by prominent persons has been prepared. The first issue of CD includes rare and unique books as well as other editions revealed in the Presidential Library, Azerbaijan National Library named after M.F. Akhundov, Central Scientific Library of ANAS, Scientific Library of Baku State University, the libraries of Pedagogical University, State Culture and Art University, University of Languages, the Republic Scientific Medicine Library, the Republic Scientific Technical, the Republic Scientific National Economy Library, State Theatre Museum named after J. Jabbarly, Azerbaijani Carpet and Folk Applied Art State Museum named after L. Karimov, the State Museum of Azerbaijani Musical Culture, the city (regional) libraries and history-ethnography museums.
The CD presents also a photo collection of monumental books preserved in different institutions. The electron edition “The Monumental Books of Azerbaijan” determines the most ancient books preserved in the republic as well.
