As of September 1, 2015, number of Azerbaijani population made 9,666,000, up 73,000 persons or 0.8% from early 2015.

According to State Statistical Committee, density of population made 112 persons in a each square meter. Each 1,000 men are equal to 1,009 women. 53.1% of population are in cities, 46.9% in villages, 49.8% are men, 50.2% women.

In January-August 2015, 109,000 babies were born in the country. Of this, 53.2% are boys, 46.8% – girls.

37,200 deaths have been recorded in January-August 2015.
