As head of the juristic brunch of the Agency Khudayat Hasanli considers, 90% of radio broadcasting companies and book editions do not follow commitments on copyrights: otherwise, they ignore copyrights agreements and do not pay author’s emoluments. “Copyrights violation – pirating –contributes to using others’ intellectual work without permission from the rights owners. Such actions are unacceptable and law prosecuted”, Kh. Hasanli said.
According to him, copyrights violation is happening at everywhere in practice, however, they could not give a precise number of the rights violators at the department. To note, in Azerbaijan copyrights on artwork are valid during 70 years after the author’s death, afterwards it becomes the people’s property.
