Prominent Austrian historian, scholar and writer Erich Fiagle’ book “History of Land of Fire – Azerbaijan on the Silk Way” dealing with different periods of Azerbaijani history has been published in Azerbaijani and Russian. It has been translated from German. Thanks to the book being a first basic work in Europe about the history of Azerbaijan, the European readers will get detailed information about the history and realities of Azerbaijan. The book has been published within the framework of the joint project of the Ministry of National Security, History Institute of ANAS and AzerTag. Chairman of the State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing People Eldar Mahmudov, director of the Institute of History of ANAS Yagub Mahmudov and head director of AzerTag Aslan Aslanov are the directors of the project. While working on the last book “History of Land of Fire – Azerbaijan on the Silk Way”, the author has carried out researches in a lot of countries, as well as researched materials of military archives which have not been used yet.
