The Ministry considers TV programs of the channel as violating Article 9 of the Germany’s Constitution, point 2 that says: “Associations with aims and activity contradicting to criminal laws or directed against the constitutional regime or against ideas of mutual understanding between people, are banned”.
Lebanese Shiite organization Hezbollah acting for creation of an Islamic state like of an Iranian type in Lebanon was included into the list of terrorist organizations by the USA. Al-Manar owned by Hezbollah was banned in America. Earlier, the channel was cut off in France, twice banned by authorities in Australia. Al-Manar (from Arab – “a lighthouse”) was accused of kindling of anti-Israeli attitudes and anti-Semitism.
