The RAK Georgia Holding is a joint venture with the Arabian Rakeen developer Company. Particularly, according to the Georgian Business Week, the enterprise got the right to run the Poti port of Georgia for 49 years.
We should remind that the “Imedi” was established by Georgian businessman, Badri Patarkatzishvili. The TV Company became a leading oppositional mass media of Georgia. After Patarkatzishvili’s death, it was expected that the “Imedi” would be controlled by his widow, Inna Gudavadze. However the rights to the TV Company were unexpectedly contested by the late’s stepbrother, Joseph Kay. Representatives of the Georgian opposition accused him of fraud and collusion with the Georgian authorities striving for getting rid of the opposition channel. The attempts of Inna Gudavadze and her lawyers to get back the TV Company haven’t been crowned with success yet.
