Chief to the Milli Majlis Standing Commission on culture issues, MP Nizami Jafarov said that in the world practice the mass media sphere, being the strategic one, should always be controlled not only by a state, but also by people.
“The experience has shown that problems arise if an editor or a chief editor is a foreigner. Taking into account the present-day socio-political situation in Azerbaijan the control of the press should be strong”, – N. Jafarov said. He believes that a chief editor and editors of a printing body should be professionals.
“The experience proves that “racket” newspapers and the “yellow” press are basically headed by the people having no higher education. Those executing the functions of an editor or a chief editor don’t write articles as a rule”, MP said.
