Officials of Xunan province decided on 8 September to close The China Business Post newspaper, having the print run of 400 thousand copies, for three months.
Not long before that, the newspaper published the research results carried out by Kui Fan where she accuses the banks of the province of falsifying the stamps and fraudulent operations to the sum of about 4, 6 bln yuans or $ 672 mln. In a telephone interview the journalist said that the authorities’ reaction to the publication “is unfair as regards her personally and her colleagues”. In her suit she demands not only to remove a ban on the newspaper publications, but also to pay out an indemnity to her prescribed by the law.
