The Embassy of Russia in Azerbaijan hosted a presentation of book titled “Ilham Aliyev: Open World” by Oleg Tsiganov, dedicated to Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev.
The book was published in 2008 in Moscow in two languages – English and Russian.
“President Aliyev faces to pave the way for Azerbaijan in future in the rapidly changing world. He opens up the world for Azerbaijan, and the world, thanks to his policies, opens Azerbaijan. Ilham Aliyev builds a course in the international space, full of previously unimaginable opportunities, but also full of the previously non-existing risks and dangers,” the author writes in the foreword of the book.
Opening the ceremony of presentation, the Russian ambassador to Azerbaijan Vladimir Dorokhin said, that this book deserves attention both in Russia and in Azerbaijan. This book is a symbol of the Azerbaijani-Russian cooperation, which would be impossible without the growth of interest and respect in Russia towards Azerbaijan as a country,” the diplomat said.
According to the ambassador, in Russia few people know about Azerbaijan, and this situation should be corrected. “I think that is a big omission, since we must appreciate our ally and partner Azerbaijan,” said Dorokhin.
The ambassador said this book contains potential author text and a good selection of photographic material. The author, according to Dorokhin, assumed a responsible task to evaluate how Azerbaijan is seeking its way into the open world, and it is logical that it was dedicated to Ilham Aliyev because “we all understand the role of the Aliyevs in the establishment of the country.”
Oleg Tsiganov is one of the most famous journalists of “Izvestia”, he is co-author of many projects devoted to Azerbaijan in the newspaper.
