During the investigation, the media-regulator revealed the cases when the audience was actively urged to call in live broadcast whereas the contest winners had been defined beforehand or merely made up by the show authors or a show record was broadcast and none of the calling had even the ghost of a chance to win by definition, and all “the phone calls” were falsified.
For its turn, the BBC Corp. stated it would take in seriously all the revealed violations and try to regain the audience’s trust, and an “unexampled” action plan has been already worked up towards this end, including special trainings of personnel, as well as toughening of the behavior code for the show authors. At the same time, the BBC stressed that neither the Corporation itself nor any of its employees had gained any profit by holding false contests and quizzes.
