He said the new TV channel will be private, thereupon the NTRC already weighs some offers of interested private companies. A profile of the international TV channel and its frequencies aren’t certain yet. Maharramli only noted that the NTRC has stand-by frequencies, and “this will be not a problem”.
The NTRC chair explained that the multi-language TV channel was decided to be launched after the broadcasting of foreign radio stations had been stopped in Azerbaijan. He also mentioned that the ratio of each language in the broadcasting grid is not yet defined. A tender on the TV channel ownership can be announced already in March.
