Azerbaijan will use an e-information system during the parliamentary elections, the Central Election Commission (CEC) told Trend today. The elections will be held in early November. The “Election” system will reflect the voting process, enter protocols, MPs and political parties into a database, and summarize the final protocols of district election commissions.
The system was first created to automatize voting in parliament. The software consists of two modules. The first gathers information from district election commissions, while the second automatizes the information.
The system will be available online on the CEC website. This will allow voters to interactively monitor the results coming from polling stations.
The information from each polling station will be transferred to the district election commissions and then to the “Elections” network.
The polling stations will be equipped with computer equipment and communications. The Aztelekom industrial association under the Communications and IT Ministry will operate to provide the polling stations with reliable, uninterrupted telephone services and Internet access. /Trend/
