Azerbaijan kicked off the parliamentary elections, Central Election Commission (CEC) spokesman Azer Sariyev told Trend today. “Azerbaijani President has ordered to hold parliamentary elections Nov. 7. According to the law, the parliamentary elections are launched from the date of publication of order,” Sariyev said.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed an order on Sept. 3, according to which the next parliamentary elections in the country will be held Nov. 7, AzerTAj state news agency reported.
Previous elections in the legislature were held in November 2005. In Azerbaijan, parliamentary elections are held on the majority system in 125 electoral districts./Trend/
