According to Isahan Ashurov, the state of health of Mushvig Huseinov, kept in colony № 2, has worsened and the court can make a decision based on Article 78 (release from punishment as a result of illness) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.
It is worth of reminding that the Court on Grave Crimes sentenced M. Huseinov to 6-year imprisonment on 21 January, 2008. Besides, he was outlawed to work as a journalist for two years. The Court of Appeal reduced M. Huseinov’s imprisonment term to five years. The journalist was arrested on 24 July, last year by the Ministry of National Security and impeached under Article 311.1 (bribery).
