Al-Jazeera’s director general Khanfar Wadah sent a letter to the press service of Israeli government where he confessed to the channel’s violation of its own ethical code. Apologizes from Al-Jazeera came as a respond to the threat of Israeli authorities to boycott the channel. The program, where Kuntar released from the imprisonment under Israeli agreement with Hezbollah movement was represented as a hero, became the reason for the threat.
Wadah confessed that the violation of the channel’s ethical code was very serious. He also informed he had ordered to prevent alike incidents in the future. Samir Kuntar spent 29 years in an Israeli prison for the attack undertaken in 1979 which took away the lives of five Israelis.
