Memorial evening of prominent poet, playwright, literary critic, translator and teacher Magsud Sheyxzade took place in Culture center named after Heydar Aliyev under the Azerbaijan Embassy in Uzbekistan. Literature, art and culture figures of Uzbekistan, famous scientists, representatives of our diaspora, journalists participated in the event. Azerbaijan’s ambassador to Uzbekistan Namig Abbasov opened memorial evening, named Magsud Sheyxzade a great son of Azerbaijani and Uzbek nations, spoke about his place and position in Uzbek literature. Chairman of Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan Friendship Society Council, Vice-President of Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan Saidaxror Gulamov, professors Suyma Ganiyeva, Naim Karimov, Dilarom Alimova, writer Muhammad Ali and others spoke about great writer’s life and activity, called him classic of Uzbek literature. Note that, he lived in exile in Tashkent since 1928 till the end of his life and worked in Tashkent Pedagogical Institute named after Nizami Ganjavi. Writer’s “Jalaladdin Manquberdi”, “Mirza Uluqbay” tragedies, “Dashkendname”, ” Grey-beard” books have earned sympathy of the readers.
