Azerbaijani Education Minister Misir Mardanov together with his Georgian counterpart Dmitri Shashkin opened two Georgian schools repaired by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation today.
The ministers opened the School No.3 in Gardabani and the School No.2 in Dmanisi and congratulated the pupils on the new school year in the renovated schools.
Shashkin thanked Mardanov for assistance in the rehabilitation of the schools and noted the Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s special role in this. He said that the Foundation has done a lot for the development of school infrastructure in the Azerbaijani-populated regions of Georgia.
The Foundation has also completely renovated the Azerbaijani school in Tbilisi before this school year, Shashkin said.
In turn, Mardanov noted that Azerbaijan takes care of its compatriots in Georgia and does everything possible to ensure the necessary level of education. Georgian-Azerbaijani cooperation is a good tool for strengthening the friendship between the two peoples, he added.
The schools have been completely renovated. The floors of buildings were reconstructed, and new doors, windows and heating systems were installed. They were equipped with modern facilities and gyms, cafeterias and modern toilets. Both schools have their own water tank.
