On May 20, Baku will host a memorial evening for a notable Turkmen poet Makhtumkuli.
The event will be organized by Turkmenistan’s embassy at the Song Theatre named after Rashid Behbudov and will feature information on the poet`s life and activity, and his contribution to the development of the Turkmen literature.
The event will bring together Azerbaijani and Turkmen art figures. Note that Turkmenistan marks May 18 as “The Makhtumkuli Poetry Day”.
