The winners of an international contest “The Best Story” declared by the Association of Cultural Figures “Luch” in January have been determined, the Association reported. 283 stories from 16 countries of the world including Azerbaijan, Austria, Algeria, Belarus, Germany, Georgia, Israel, Kazakhstan, Canada, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, the USA, Ukraine, Estonia and Russia. The most of them have been sent from Azerbaijan, Russia and Ukraine.
The works of the best 12 authors will be included into the almanac of the contest’s final stage – “Literary relations”. The winners’ names are already known: Antiya Irakli “Minimalism” (Israel), Alexander Vasilenko “The Library” (Germany), Helena Ivchenko “Such Hot Weather” (Belgium), Magsad Nur “Vasiliy Danilovich’s orchestra” (Azerbaijan), Sara Oguz “From Old Men” (Azerbaijan), Nay Svetla “Passing Train” (the USA), Natasha Severnaya “Between the Sky and Earth” (Ukraine), David Seglevich “Frida” (Canada), Alexander Titov “We shall never meet again” (Russia), Tatyana Thomakh “A Man’s Time” (Russia), Beso Khvadelidze “The Taste of A Mouse” (Georgia), A-Mil Shakir “A Narrative about Love” (Kazakhstan).
The Laureates and winners will be awarded on May 6 in Azerbaijan Writers Union during a solemn meeting of the Association of Cultural Figures “Luch”.
