The National TV and Radio Council of Azerbaijan is planning to open a new TV channel.
Council’s Chairman Nushirevan Maharramli says that a relevant tender procedure will be announced in the summer.
“The Council considers that in order to meet Azerbaijani society’s needs in cultural area there is a need to launch a new Culture TV. We will do our best to open this channel in 2010. Discussion on a tender has been launched,” Maharramli said.
TV channel Culture will be the second specialized channel in the country after “Sport Azerbaijan” state-run TV channel.
The major goal of this TV channel will be to popularize national spiritual values, culture, literature and history of Azerbaijan.
