A virtual reading hall of the theses for Candidate’s and Doctor’s degrees defended in the Republic of Azerbaijan on all scientific fields opened in the National Library named after M.F. Akhundzadeh on April 6. The Culture and Tourism Minister Abulfas Garayev opened the presentation ceremony and noted about the special importance of e-conveyances of information in modern period: “As I was informed, there are 7842 dissertations in the library at present. 1300 of them have been included into the virtual base. The dissertations are in Azerbaijani, Russian, Turkish and so on. This is very important. The users can get familiarized themselves with dissertations and author’s abstracts in different languages.”
A first vice-president of ANAS Arif Hashimov, a deputy minister of education Irada Husseinova, a chairman of Azerbaijani Parliament’s Committee on Culture Nizami Jafarov and other figures spoke of the significance of the virtual reading hall. At the end of the ceremony the electron base of theses was demonstrated.
