An event devoted to the Uzbek poet and playwright, Azerbaijani by origin Magsud Sheikhzadeh’s 100th jubilee was held in Song Theatre named after R. Behbudov in the initiative of Azerbaijan Creation Fund, Embassy of Uzbekistan in Azerbaijan and Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan Friendship Society.
Addressing the event chairman of Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan Friendship Society, deputy Eldar Ibrahimov, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Azerbaijan Ismatulla Igrashev spoke about the notable poet’s role of bridge between the two cultures.
The poet regarded as an outstanding representative of political philosophy in Uzbek literature. Songs composed to master Sheikhzadeh’s poems were performed in the event.
