Today at the museum named after Heydar Aliyev in the city of Tovuz was held an event in honor of the 70-year anniversary of Colonel of the Ministry of National Security (MNS) Eldar Gasim oglu Gasimov, directly involved in the detection and prevention terrorist acts and other crimes in Azerbaijan and the post-soviet territory.

At the event was held the ceremony of presentation of the book “Professional
officer, a noble man”, which reflects the life path of Eldar Gasimov and the memories of friends. The author of the book is the candidate of philological sciences Sharaf Jalilli, editor – Chairman of the Council of Veterans of MNS, General Magsoud Mammadov.

The event was attended by deputy of Milli Majlis Ganira Pashayeva, friends and relatives of Eldar Gasimov and the public of Tovuz.

As Deputy Ganira Pashayeva said in her opening speech, Eldar Gasimov was a fearless, brave man, past honorary life path.

Chief Executive of Tovuz district Tofig Zeynalov, the poet Nariman Hasanzade and others in their speeches shared memories about Eldar Gasimov and stressed his affection for his homeland and people.

It was also noted that in order to perpetuate the memory of Eldar Gasimov a street in the city would be named after him.

At the event was shown a film about the life path of Eldar Gasimov.

In conclusion, a wife of Eldar Gasimov Adiba Pashayeva thanked all those present.

Eldar Gasim oglu Gasimov was born in 1939 in Tovuz. He graduated a secondary school in Shamkir region. He is a graduate of the Law Faculty of Baku State University. Eldar Gasimov died July 21, 2008.
