The newspaper writes the special service representatives refused to explain the reasons for the search. According to deputy editor-in-chief of the “Vesti dnya”, Tatyana Merkulova, the search was conducted by three persons accompanied by the newspaper owner’s representative. No one was questioned from among the journalists. As the DELFI informs, the security police agents were “seeking for something in the computers”. They left the office in about an hour. Later on, a representative of the Office of Public Prosecutor informed that the search had been conducted within the framework of criminal case on bribery in the Tallinn administration. It is informed that deputy of the Tallinn city assembly, Elmar Sepp was detained on 26 February over the same case. According to the “Interfax”, he is one of the members of the foundation financing the “Vesti dnya” newspaper.
