The channel’s management was informed about the matter at the Georgian Union of cable TV. The reasons are not specified. At that, Echo of Moscow notes the information about switching off the channel appeared soon after RTVi had aired an interview of RF Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov.
RTVi was the only Russian-language channel on the Georgian TV which continued broadcasting during the Georgia-Ossetian conflict, the radio reminded. Earlier, ORT, RTR, NTV as well as Euronews TV stopped broadcasting on demand of Georgian authorities.
