Interview with The Beatles aired in 44 years

The 9,5-minute long recording participated by John Lennon and Paul McCartney was made on 30 April, 1964 in a Scottish TV studio. The interview was never aired and was considered lost over 40 years. The rarity spools were found by amateur- historian, Richard Jeffs in one of the garages in Southern London. According to him, 64 film boxes were kept there. The interview with The Beatles was in the second of the boxes examined by him. Jeffs did not rule out that there might be more recordings participated by the “Liverpool Fourth” in the rest 62 boxes. It is uncertain how the film spools appeared to be in the garage. Jeffs can guess the recordings were discarded from the Scottish TV archive several tens of years ago after plots started to be recorded on video, but not on cinema strips.
