A TV channel to broadcast in Russian, Armenian, English, Turkish and Farsi is to be launched in Azerbaijan, the APA informs referring to chair of the National TV and Radio Council (NTRC), Nushiravan Maharramli.

American journalist, Roxana Saberi, is detained in Iran, the Reuters informs. The journalist cooperating with such agencies as the BBC and the NPR was arrested as early as 31 January, 2009, but nothing was known about her detention until February.

One of the Chinese provincial newspapers has rescinded the deal on supply of 150 “Airbus” liners to the CPR having wrongly translated the information of a US news agency, The China Daily informs. The article saying that the CPR broke off the agreement with the “Airbus” which doesn't cope with the plan of supply of 150 air liners was reprinted by other mass media and evoked widespread resonance not only in China, but also outside it.

2 March is the fourth anniversary day of murder of Elmar Huseinov - editor-in-chief of the “Monitor” magazine. The journalist's friends, family and associates will come on this day to his grave in the second Alley of Honorary Graveyard. The International Forum of the Journalist Organizations of Turkic-language countries will commence on its work on 14 April in Turkey. The Georgian Television Company “Imedi” has been sold to the RAK Georgia Holding Georgian-Arabian investment group, the “Interfax” informs. The sum of the deal is not disclosed. Ex-owner of the “Imedi”, Joseph Kay said he had sold 90 % of the Company's shares having retained 10 % for himself. He explained the deal by his desire “to recover losses of the Company incurred within the last months”.

The victims of Khojaly tragedy are commemorated today in Azerbaijan. As a result of atrocity of Armenian criminal troops, 613 people of the Khojaly population were killed, 487 became invalids, 1275 civilians, including the elderly, children and women, were subjected to tortures being beyond all understanding in Armenian captivity.
